Each step along the picturesque streets is enriched by expert commentary, offering you a deeper appreciation for the area’s 19th-century architecture, culture, and storied past. Each block reveals a unique narrative, letting you appreciate the complex history that shaped the Garden District.
Your tour guide will also discuss the distinctions between urban enslavement and the more commonly understood rural experiences, providing a richer understanding of the past and the lives lived within it.

Know Before You Go
Meeting Location: 2140 Magazine Street (@ Jackson Avenue), P J’s Coffee House, where you can use the restroom and grab something to drink for the walk.
Ending Location: Within 3 to 4 blocks of the starting location; Your guide will provide directions to your destination following the tour.
Tour Length: 2 hours, approximately 1+ mile
Tour Schedule: Daily at 10:30 AM and 2 PM (Note: during the very hot summer months (July and August we do not have the 2 PM tour available for booking.)
Logistics: Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes, stay hydrated, bring a snack if you like; the tour includes a comfort/restroom break.
Weather: Our tours walk rain or shine unless conditions are unsafe in which we will do our best to reschedule your tour.

No Smoking and/or Vaping: As a courtesy to all of our guests, we do not sanction smoking and/or vaping while touring.
Pet Policy: We love 4-legged furry pets, but unless the dog is a service animal, we recommend not bringing them simply as a courtesy to other guests on the tour.
